Fourteen years ago I was in the wholesale neckwear business. Like you, several of my key accounts demanded
that I conduct business using EDI and the accompanying bar-coding technology. At that time my only option was to purchase
translation software and bar-coding equipment, subscribe to a value added network, and spend countless valuable hours developing
systems to make it all work and meet stringent compliance requirements.
Shortly after I had mastered this technology casual wear expanded from Fridays to everyday and the neckwear
industry was severely impacted. I took stock of my assets, skills, and industry knowledge and decided that my best option
was to create a resource that would be invaluable to manufactures and wholesalers such as myself. I decided to outsource my
EDI resources and knowledge to other vendors that had more popular product lines.
The funny part of my story is that I still needed to sell neckwear and could only afford one phone line. So
I named my new company Technical Information Electronic Company and used the acronym TIE co. This way I could still sell neckwear
while I was establishing myself as a premier EDI Outsourcing partner for Target.
Today we have enough Electronic Commerce accounts that we don?t need to sell neckties. But I still remember
my wholesale roots and believe that TIE co. can best understand and serve your business. Take the time to call for a free
no-obligation telephone consultation.
Sincerely,
John P. Olson
